You can use any existing ZPhoneList with ZTerm XK 0.9.5 with no modifications! Just drop your ZPhoneList(s) into a folder with the XK 0.9.5 version (and make sure that no other version of ZTerm is in the folder). Then, either double-click on the list or on ZTerm XK to launch the program.
Most of the changes in ZTerm XK 0.95 (as in previous XK versions) consist of added Command Keys and much-improved dialogue boxes. Also, the ZTerm code has been adjusted to improve sending files.
The wording and organization of many of ZTerm’s settings and dialogue boxes have been further improved in ZTerm 0.95. And, the added Command Keys have two major advantages:
• Many more capabilities of ZTerm can be accessed directly from the keyboard, rather than requiring the use of a mouse. That’s faster, easier, and interferes less with data transfer.
In the standard version of ZTerm (0.9), many of ZTerm’s most important functions and settings are accessible only through mousing down through two or more layers of menus. Using the mouse is slower than using a single, quick keyboard command.
Also, most of ZTerm’s data transfer activities come to a dead stop from the first moment when you “mouse down” until you’ve finished your selections. When you use a Command Key, there’s only a very momentary slowdown of ZTerm’s data activities.
• The new Command Keys add significantly to the flexibility and power of “scripting” to automate your sessions with ZTerm.
